VW golf CarvanSDI 2000 opionions

Looking for a reliable/economical car that will do for a year or two and will work for putting dogs in the back, the above is for sale for €2,500 with 145thousand miles on it. What would ye think of this?

Way overpriced and dog slow.

Perfect for keeping dogs in but a bit expensive, something like this would be a lot cheaper. Not so good if you want to use it to bring your dogs with you on a journey, it will break your heart. It's slow and noisey.

They're very slow, but less of a risk than a TDI. That's quite dear for what is essentially a 10 year old van.

You'll get a much newer Berlingo for that sort of dough.

Thanks for the comments guys, ill keep looking. As regards the berlingo, i would prefer a car van. Budget of around €4,500.

Alias, is it just me but i cant see an engine on your option!
