Anyone know what the story is with the drilling just downstream of the Quincentennial bridge, they're drilling westwards with a horizontal rig, piping and more rods on NUIG side.. just curious is all

Thanks for the info. Robbo, thought it'd be easier to string the cable along under the bridge. BTW, any idea what they've been at up the Dyke Rd recently, and down at the waterworks.... water filtration\pumping?

Remember kids, a monorail is more grounded in reality and easier to implement than the Gluas...

It sure put Brockway, North Haverbrook and Ogdenville on the map.

Aside, no idea what's going on up the Dyke Road/Waterworks, I haven't been up that way in ages.

Heard it's for the creation of a larger conduit to supply Galway with over-used Simpsons references.
The earlier small bore one got blocked with a particularly large "I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords"

But what's really needed is a bypass... even this will just get overloaded before too long, being one of only four points where it can cross the river as is. When will they learns!!!

The river is at it's shallowest point at that particular point, the cables run in a pipe on the riverbed

Just below the Quin bridge (not right under it) is a shallow part of the river alright (all accross, as opposted to just points) and there ARE cables run accross the river-bed, inside pipes. I can only assume that these pipes are full, OR, that the diameter of the new pipes going in would create too much of a shallow accross the river which would result in a boat damaging them
