    Hey,

I'm a journalism student at DCU and I'm doing research for an article about burglaries. Apparently there have been quite a few all around Dublin recently. There have been posts about incidents in Portmarnock etc on this site as well.

I realise that this is a sensitive subject, but it would be most helpful to hear from someone with a firsthand experience. The good news is that the article is for educational purposes and I don't work for any media outlets. Still, if necessary, I could change the names and quarantee anonymity.

    Thanks a million.
    Regards,
    Teele

I would be glad to help as i dont think the area is handled at all by the government....its a farce to be honest...

Myself and my girlfriend were broken into at 2:30 am in the summer while we were in bed...car stolen as well as laptop etc...next door neighbour disturbed them and they sped off...this was in Mount Argus in Harolds cross...now we had no alarm on, and we were actually having our lock on the front door replaced so we had no lock....there were 2 of them apparently.....scum

About a month later being a bt paranoid i stayed up on a monday 2 am and a junkie tried the back door, he had jumped over the railings from Sundrive park and was trying all the back doors...i startled him and he was gone...called the guards etc...i moved out of there and am in a much nicer area now and am very security concious...awful experience to be honest....these people have 20 or 30 convictions and are walking in or out of court...
