Good HTPC?

I haven't used one, so all I can say is that it might be from looking at the specs. Also, it depends on what you consider a HTPC to be, or what you want in one. For me, it has to have at least one TV tuner, but this doesn't list one in the specs.

I think the two criteria that qualify this to be called a HTPC is that the onboard ATi 3200 graphics chip, which is a type designed for laptops, is supposed to be able to provide hardware decoding of HD video codecs, and that there is a HDMI output at the rear.

If you'll only be interested in playing downloaded video files and DVDs then it might be great for that purpose. It looks small and fashionably designed, so they may be important factors for people looking for a HTPC for the living room.

Negative points are that expandability would be very limited. There's only room for one internal hard disk, so any more storage space would require replacing the existing one or connecting an external disk. Adding a TV tuner would limit you to external USB models.

One last concern would be whether the unit is noisy or not, which is often something that is forgotten when looking at the specs of a machine, but if the fan(s) in the unit are noisy it can quickly become the most important factor for people when they bring a PC into their living room.

Doesn't say that it comes with a remote by the way, so you'd need to buy a media center remote and usb receiver unit separately.
