hi folks

I'm trying to help out someone who is having problems with their bb connection. Their hooked up with Skydsl which I haven't had any experience with. Can someone explain to me exactly how these satellite bb providers work? I 've read here that skydsl are a glorified accelerator. My friends pc has a coaxial cable going in the back which I presume is coming straight from his dish, but he also has a little usb modem adapter which has a phone line plugged into it.

at the moment he has lost his connection.he usaully has a little smiley face in the task bar but now its red indicating no connection. Is there a good how to guide online somewhere about how to reconfigure these things?
