If your current aerial is pointed at the Glanmire relay transmitter it wont work (yet) as this site is not (yet) equipped for DTT

You will either be getting Mullaghanish or Spur hill, not sure which aerial you will want (as in which group) but Dwyers will sort you out for few euro. I use Mullaghanish and its the red group (A I think)
P.S. you sure your tv will decode MPEG4 and isn't a digital MPEG 2 tv?

Well it has the dvb-t logo on it so i presume it is. Does the aerial have to be pointed in a certain direction like a satellite dish or what?

Only a few tvs (usually higher end and recent) are capable of decoding MPEG4.
The fact that it carries a DVB-T just means it has a MPEG2 tuner. Google the model number of yourTV or check the manual for the specs.

Reception in Glanmire can vary a lot , as it is built in a valley.
As already stated ,if all you can currently receive is RTE1, 2 , & TG4 you are likely to be low down and only receiving Glanmire relay.
If you can receive TV3 already you are receiving Mullaganish or Spur Hill and probaly do not need to do anything to your aerial.
It may be possible to add an aerial for Spur hill or Mullaganish , depends on your location. Indoor aerials (and particulary the one you linked to:eek:) would be useless where you are.

Can you see the Airport from where you live? The DTT transmitter is on Spur Hill nearby. I could get DTT on my laptop from Spur Hill (on 666MHz) all along the N25 from Midleton to the Tunnel so if you are not too far away from the N25 you should be able to get it.
As Rippy says though it will probably all depend on whether or not you are down in a valley.

I said I would revive this thread since Saorview has officially been launched.

    See this product.

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/DVB-T-RECEIVER-USB-DONGLE-DIGITAL-TV-YOUR-COMPUTER-/120667142904?pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item1c18527af8

Now, I have a Dreambox 800 and I know you can get those usb tuners to work with them.

However, will I be able to pick up irish DTT in glanmire with one of those?

    Im guessing not.

Sorry to revive this old thread but I haven't yet got around to getting saorview sorted but coming back to it now.

According to this thread, Glanmire now has its own Saorview transmitter, post 11. Correct me if im wrong.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=69597612

Could I therefore receive Saorview in Glanmire with something like this:

    Connected to my DM800
