Take Aim Cup - call for marshals

Right, as you all know by now, the largest airsoft event in Ireland is happening on the weekend of November 28 / 29 in Moyvalley Adventure Zone - The Take Aim Cup

In order for this to run smoothly, we are looking for as many marshals to volunteer for the event as possible. We know there are a lot of airsofters out there who may not be entering to play, but would still be interested in seeing the event.
Unfortunately, for many various reasons, there are no spectator facilities, so I am asking you to consider volunteering as a marshal for the weekend. By marshaling, you will be in the thick of the action, and will have a view of the gameplay that no spectator could ever get :)
You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you are contributing to the community as a whole by ensuring the competitions run smoothly and fairly.
If you are available to marshal at the event, we would also like you to be available next Saturday, November 21 for a visit to the site for a walkaround and marshal briefing at approx 1pm.

This promises to be an amazing event, and I sincerely hope that people row in behind it to ensure it is the success that it can be.

Please reply here if you are interested and I will contact all respondents by pm before Friday Nov 20th

    Rich

I'm out late on the 27th so 28th is a no go but if I can get a lift with somebody heading out then I'll gladly marshall the 29th, no promises on the walkabout though.

Can't make next Saturday or Saturday the 28th. I would like to offer to take Photos on the 29th if you would like me to try to capture the event. PM me if you are interested.

If there's a lift out there from Dublin and it doesn't matter that I've no marshaling experience, I'll be able to do both days if you like.

I'm happy to do a couple of semi-scheduled trips down to Maynooth train station for people over the course of the weekend, once 3-4 turn up at a time and I know you. It's only 15 mins down the road or so.

Since the venue seems to be in the dead centre of nowhere and neither the website of the hotel nor that of the adventure thinger offer any hints as to whether there's a bus route nearby, is there anybody willing to carpool from Dublin, pick up from Maynooth or Enfield, or provide advice on a convenient bus that merrily stops outside the gates?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,088 ✭✭✭BioHazRd

There is no bus that stops outside the gates. Carpooling would be the most sensible option.

See above. I'll do a couple of runs for people who I know if they arrange with me beforehand or tell me what tain they're getting.

I won't be out there til late on friday but can do runs on sat and sun morning (for certain values of morning, since I'll be drinking like a mad eejit both nights)

I'm assuming as I haven't been contacted that you don't need my services for photos on the Sunday then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 161 ✭✭(F.L.) Anders

I can offer a lift from Enfield for a few bods if you make it that far. Any other cars can follow me to the hotel if they need to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 988 ✭✭✭evilrobotshane

Most convenient for Dublinians is probably the Bus Eireann bus, the first one of which gets into nearby Enfield at 0735 (from Busarus at 0700), and doesn't require shuttling all the way to Maynooth.

    Sorry Gandalf

This thread was strictly for marshaling duties. Regarding photography you can contact alan or Ian as they are looking after that aspect. Apologies for not letting you know sooner, my fault.

I know it's a tad late, but it turns out the team i was meant to accompany isn't able to make it any longer.

So is there anyway i'd be able to put my name down to marshal?
If it helps i've dabbled my hand in Marshalling for a few months now.

    Cheers.
