The Marine 2

I have to admit that I love the original, it's the sort if balls to the wall old school 80s throw back that modern cinema so lacks. The sequel looks to be more of the same which isn't a bad thing.

Plenty of explosions and fighting anyhow. I wonder how Ted Dibiase will fare. As far as I'm aware this is his first lead role.

The role suits Ted. I'm looking forward to it. A face turn now would be nice as well.

Haven't seen the original, but have to ask, can anyone tell me why The Marine 2 doesn't have Cena as the lead?

Is it a completely different story this time, or is Cena spread about through it and it just focuses on someone else?

Just find it odd that they'd make a sequel without the same main character (I could understand if Cena left WWE, but he's still available.. just seems odd to me).

Maybe it's like Triple X with different leads. (Vin Diesel, Ice Cube)

Looks awesome, like Darko I loved the original. Reminded me of everything that made the action genre great in its golden years.

I like that they are giving a different wrestler... actor the lead. Maybe Cena was busy on 12 rounds while this was being shot? Who knows. Still WWE films likes to give it's flavour of the month wrestlers some air time, so maybe Cena is being put out to pasture (don't know, don't follow wrestling)

I just hope this stays true to the original and doesn't go anywhere near trying to be serious like "The Condemned"... that film awfully tried to mix the OTT humour of 80's action with weird segues into serious comments on society dealing with rape and torture.

I know this phrase gets thrown around a lot, but I really mean it. I genuinely thought The Marine was one of the worst films Ive ever seen. I found it to be painful viewing.

I couldnt even enjoy it on a 'so bad its good' way. I actually couldnt wait for it to end. Seems I'm not alone in my thinking - http://ie.rottentomatoes.com/m/marine/

I have to agree with you. Thought the original was a waste of some talented people. Certainly not blaming Cena, as he was grand, as was Robert Patrick.

Watched it last nite...it was DIRE!, eww!...seriosuly bad, Ted DeeBee is just horrid beyond belief. The only good thing about is was Lara Cox.....but she didn't he get her boobs out!!!

It's actually nicely shot at the start, say first 20 mins....flimed on location in South East Asia, but the script, action (sic), acting....and general all round badness!
