Hi, I'm using my iPod as a makeshift external hard-drive while I'm away from home. One thing I'm concerned about is the effects of being plugged in to my laptop for prolonged periods on the battery. Anyone have any advice?

Should be fine as far as I know.

Just charge it up full and let it run down (put a song on loop and leave it) about once a month to keep it in good shape.
