Newtown lead 1-8 to 1-7 at half time. A fantastic first half of hurling. Newtown playing a lovely open style of hurling, but Adare competing very well. The two O Connors and Cathal Naughton to the fore for the Corkmen and Declan Hannon giving a scoring masterclass for Adare with all of their scores including a bullet penalty just before half time. Not bad for a 16 year old!

Wayne mcnamara playing a great game.

1:11 to 1:10 for newtownshandrum. Great point by Declan hannon just there.

So its Newtown 1-12 Adare +Declan Hannon 1-12 :) About time Liam Costello was taken off, he's game but he wasn't up to races today. Stephen Lavin seems to be doing a good man marking job on Ben O'Connor. Stephen O'Connell, Donncha Sheehan and Brian Foley are playing out of there socks. Declan Hannon is playing the game of his life, giving Pat Mulcahy the run around. Still though Newtown are so dangerous and they have a free in front of the post.

Full time 1-17 to 1-14 victory for Newtown. Guile, experience and no little skill won it for them. Adare probably gave away too many silly frees in the second half and Ben O'Connor punished them almost every time. 5 of Adare's forwards also weren't up to the mark, far too much reliance on Declan Hannon, scoring 1-13 was very impressive. Newtown got two hard games from Thurles and Adare and this will stand to them in the final. On their day they are as good as any team in Ireland.

One of the best games of hurling I've seen this year. Declan hannon is a serious hurler. Theres a glimpse of hope for limerick hurling anyways :).

A good result (for Newtown), but poor game, besides Hannon's performance.

Newtown showed some good touches and threatened to cut loose during stages of the both halves, but never did, they were definitely stiffled by the referee, the referee against Thurles let the game play on more, this guy blew a lot up in the 1st half.

Newtown had an awful lot of wides and two or three more goal opportunities that they either fluffed or Adare defended well.

Hopefully Newtown can improve their accuracy for the Final.
