Hi, this is a bit odd but I was sitting on the sofa with macbook on my lap, up jumps the pup and puts her paws on my macbook keyboard and something strange happened, The windows open all shrank and spread out over the screen, they had a blue halo around them and the screen behind was dim(like when dashboard open). When I hit the spacebar it went back to normal, I have tried to repeat this and can't, does anyone know what she did?

I thought that too but not quite the same, also there was a glow around the windows and the dock was still brightly visible. Not good at explaining this sorry, was just curious as it never happened before and I couldn't repeat it.

Are you on Snow Leopard? There is application-specific exposé, which would make that app's icon stand out in the dock and only show that app's windows, like this:
