    Howdy folks,

    The IAA AGM is over.

The results of the votes are as follows :

Grant exec power to change structure of IAA : passed
    CLO Position removal : passed
Removal of exec capacity of Legal Officer : passed
    Declaration of Donations : passed
Motion for code of ethics/child protection : passed

New Chairperson : Richie Smith (biohazrd)
    New Vice-Chairperson : Graham D'arcy (Gatling)
New PRO : Kevin Weaver (mobprop667)

I want to thank everyone who came along, especially those who came from afar. It was a very decent turnout, and it was good to see some familiar faces again.

There'll be some handover time in the next week or so, and you should see your new committee introducing themselves soon.

I wanted to take this opportunity as outgoing acting chairperson to thank everyone who made the IAA committee's life easier over the past 11 months, and the opposite to those who did the opposite. You know who you are :-)

I'd just like to say that I'm really going to miss working with the guys on the outgoing committee - it was a real pleasure and an honour to be a (small) part of the team. Their dedication and devotion to the sport, the sacrificing of their personal lives and professional careers that I have witnessed was well above and beyond the call of duty. Every airsofter in this country (IAA member or not) owes these guys a great debt of gratitude for their sterling work and unwavering loyalty to the sport of airsoft in Ireland.

The very best of luck to the newly elected committee - I have utmost faith in you and I know we have a strong Chairman at the helm to lead us through the next year. I am always available to help you out in any way I can.

Apologies to all for not being able to make it to the AGM today. Unfortunately family duties took precedence as my wife and 2 kids were very sick and I had to stay home to mind them.:(

Many thanks to the outgoing committee for their help and support over the last year and best wishes to their replacements! It's a hard act to follow but a worthy cause!

I would also like to add my thanks to the outgoing committee for the work they have done in the last 12 months. As a result of their efforts, we have managed to secure the sport of airsoft in Ireland in a way we could only have dreamt of in 2006.
I am aware we in the present committee have very big boots to fill, but I firmly believe that we are up for the challenge, and hopefully the next 12 months will see IAA build on what has been achieved so far and bring airsoft into the main stream

Have to say a few words of thanks to the outgoing committee.
I'm pretty new to the world of Boards and dealing with the Airsoft community.About a year ago i came in contact with Aidan and Steve from the IAA.I have to say before i met these guys i really felt i was in a business i fully expected could be banned at any stage.I also wasn't really sure about the legalities of the various parts of the business i was involved in.Since my introduction to the IAA i've never looked back.Their knowledge, help and professionalism changed my whole outlook on Airsoft.I'm pretty sure most people have no idea how much work these guys put in.On one particular occasion i remember parked up on the M9 and discussing with Steve problems i was having. We were on the phone for about an hour and a half. When i got home my wife remarked that guy must be getting well paid for listening to you till 8pm.I think it was only then it hit me how often i'm calling on these guys time for my livelihood but for their hobby.
I truly believe if it was not for these guys and their predecessors we would have seen a ban some time ago.
THANKS GUYS and to the new committee-phones at the ready!

    Richard Seery
