Social Welfare question

Not sure if this is the right forum but anyway, I own a house, which i have rented out as i live with my partner.

I was put on part time hours a few months ago. When i researched claiming social welfare for the days i was not working i discovered that i wouldnt get anything if i declared that i was living with my partner, so i used my own hour address on the claim form. Maybe not legally right, but i couldnt afford not to.

Now one of my tenants had lost their job and needs to claim dole. My question is, if she puts down the address of my property on her application form for social welfare, will that flag with the dole office that someone else from that address is claiming social welfare? Or will it show up that i am her landlord ( i dont even make enough in rent to pay the mortgage)

I have to "come clean" to the dole office next March anyway, as i will be getting married and hopefully my work hours will be back up to full time at that stage, but at the moment i really need the dole money to survive.

Please dont lecture me on this, i know that what i am doing is illegal.

Its all computerised today, Very easy to query a database.

If you loose you job or go part time and you have been paying PRSI you are entitled to Job seekers allowance for a certain period, it does not matter where you live. Go to your local Dole office and they can give you advise. Its not means tested for the first year I believe, but I think after a certain number of month the means testing kicks in (so they will be looking at the rent you are earning)

Maybe I have it wrong. But I believe you can claim (if you have made PRSI contributions)
