When someone is in employment, he pays PRSI contributions. (usually class A).
But also while on some state payments (jobseekers benefit, maternity benefit, etc) it's also considered as period where your PRSI is paid by state. They're called PRSI credited contributions.

So say someone was working for year and paying prsi. Then she'd been on maternity leave and was receiving maternity benefit (with credited PRSI contributions). And after another half year in full employment, paying PRSI.

Together it's 2 years and for this period that person should have full 2 years PRSI contributions. (52 x 2 = 104).

Proof of the ones from employment is easy - P60 or P45. Everything is listed there.
But where is it possible to get any proof of credited PRSI contributions?

You can apply for a copy of your PRSI record (including credits) on welfare.ie (online services)

If you are counting 104 for the overall number to qualify for Jobseeker's Benefit, the 104 need to be paid, and not credited.
So while the credited contibutions can bring up your total number for 2007, they won't count for the 104 overall.
You can contact the Maternity Benefit section for a statement regarding the amount you got paid for the period, along with the number of credits awarded and the duration of the period of the claim.
