In this situation the guy did seem to be trying to hit someone. He poked his head around the corner twice, threw on the second time. I agree that maybe he meant to throw a grenade. The guy who was killed must feel robbed.

But I've seen loads of grenade kills like this in CoD4. You are in a gunfight and some random grenade from across the map bounces on two roofs and explodes at your feet. My best was a guy threw a grenade up into a building to get a sniper, the grenade flew in 1 window, out the other and onto my head. Nice!

I only used the throwing knife once... hit someone in the back, they turned around and shot me. Complete fail so I haven't used it since! Does it need to be a headshot to kill?
