My gmail is filled with updates from Facebook; is there any way I can set up a folder or something so that all facebook related-emails will be moved there; still notifying me but not spamming up the rest of the inbox?

Yup! Click on settings (top right), then the filters tab, and create new filter!

Yes, under "More actions" on an e-mail, you can select "Filter messages like these". You can then filter based on something like subject "Facebook" or from noreply@facebook.com or whatever. On the next page, I choose "Skip the inbox" and "apply a label", then give it a label like "Facebook". That should then setup a label like a folder where all your Facebook mails will go.

Brilliant; thanks a million to both of you.
