Fair balls to them on this, it will be some show. Even the fact that 2 pilots will parachute from the plane once the collision course is set in.

A passenger jet will be crashed at high speed in the desert as part of a new Channel 4 programme next year.
The plane will be destroyed in a bid to gain an unprecedented insight into safety issues for the new documentary Plane Crash.

The two pilots will parachute from the airliner, which will be loaded with cameras and sensors, after setting it on autopilot to crash.
Julian Bellamy, head of Channel 4, said: "It is an extraordinary idea and only Channel 4 would be brave enough to do it. Not even aircraft manufacturers have crashed something this big."

The show's producer Geoff Deehan added: "As well as making spectacular television, we hope Plane Crash will be one of the most useful experiments in the history of aviation.
"It will give us unprecedented answers to the big question: how can we make air crashes more survivable?"
The idea for the programme came after the crash of a British Airways Boeing 777 at Heathrow airport last year.
Channel 4 have not revealed exactly where the crash will be taking place or how much it is costing.

The channel's other new shows next year include Blitz Street, in which a row of 1940s terraced houses will be recreated and then subjected to a range of high explosives.
Will you be tuning in to either show? Do you think it is money well spent? Let us know your thoughts...

    Great in-flight entertainment.

Sounds like little more than a way to boost ratings. If it was a genuine experiment that needed to be done then I could see the benefit, but my guess is that it's just a gimmick that they're dressing up as "scientific". It's like the assassination of George Bush or the execution of Gary Glitter. Utterly pointless.

Reminds me of that E4 reality program where they all thought they were in space, only for them to be told BEFORE the show ended it was all a hoax, screwed up the punchline!

Blitz....be better if a WWII bomber bombed the house, why use explosives?....rubbish, have the RAF do a sortie on it's ass!

    Meh. Seen "Alive".

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

well at least it's not Big Brother

actually it would be a better idea if they put the entire cast of big brother on that plane and only have parachutes for the pilots.

They could give maybe another parachute and we could 'vote' who gets it, aslo include everyone from X-factor, strictly come dancing and fair city

Why dont they crash it in to a 110 storey steel structure so we can find out why the Twin Towers collapsed?

This sounds interesting enough, but only cause i love a good explosion every now and again. Especially if its in slow motion and seen iutiple angles.

I'm pretty sure the plane crashing into the 110 story building is what caused the towers to fall.

After this they should rebuild the Titanic, the Hindenbeg etc...... the possibilities are endless.

Now that would be reality TV.
