Differences in PGDE in various Uni's

    Hi everybody!
Im new to this board but I have read quite a bit prior to this. I have a question on how the structure of the PGDE differs in each University. I am thinking of applying before the closing date this year, however I have seen in some posts information as to how the hours can run - in UCD its teaching during the day and classes in the evening. Maynooth - classes 2 days a week and rest of the days for lectures. It would appear to me that the UCD system must be very strenuous and give you a tough workload to manage. Given that I would ideally like to put my first preferences as Galway or Cork I was wondering does anybody know how they run the course in either of these places? Anyone have personal experience and would like to share how the year was for them?I presume course content is the same in all of the Universities. I have looked on the individual Uni sites for information about the structure of the working week but its not provided. Thanks in advance for your help.:)

I did my PGDE in Galway 2 years ago. I know that the structure has changed somewhat but when I was there I did sequential which meant teaching during the day and college in the evening apart from Thursday when we were in college all day. Those doing block teaching practice were out for a few weeks at a time teaching and had lectures when we had lectures.
