    Hi all
I found the different threads a great help when
I went to get broadband in my new place. (So here is my experince honest and basic)

So over the last week this is what happened.
    >>Friday 6th
Moved into new place on Northbrook road ranelagh.
    Bought a shinny new xbox
    >> Monday 9th
Read loads online about different providers and possibilites.
    >>Tuesday
    Tried my first choice NTL
    Nope not available.
So went for next choice MAGNET.

talked to Rory (co-incidence) from this forum and
He said do you have phone line (yep)
grand can you get it activated (so I did) (re-activation cost nada)

    >>Wednesday
Rang back rory after getting account number from my new eircom line
    and laser in hand.
Got all done in addound 20 mins on phone.
got the force 10 or whatever.
(no long delays in calling and got a 10% discount on bill as company I work for has a corperate connection so €50 a month)

    >>Thurday
dsl wireless router came to my job sweet....
After pub came home hooked it up in arround 5 mins

    went to speedtest.
    Got 10.5 mbps down
    and 1.3 up

so happy days all very good and really helpfull on phone.

Not enough good customer service is complimented.
    Thanks MAGNET
    Pearse

Man, don't use txt spk, and don't quote long posts. Very annoying.

It's all resold Eircom BB at the end of the day but with a different badge....would love to know how and why the differences in quality and most of all why Eircom themselves seem to be bottom of the pile

AFAIK magnet provide LLU on the ranelagh exchange so it is NOT a resold eircom package.

Rob808 infracted for using text speak.

Advised him also to use punctuation.

Magnet use LLU ADSL2+, so it is very different from the normal resold Eircom Bitstream rubbish. Much faster and more reliable.
