RTE are showing the France v. SA match insted.
    They might have highlightd after.

Is it even being streamed on rte.ie?

    What about the BBC?

Stringer and Horgan in an A International. Can someone explain why this is happening? Surely we should be trying to develop a new SH and wing, these guys are finished at International level.

one needs experience to protect and bring along inexperience.

Any Tongan Boards regulars anyone know?? May know a channel we could find a stream from and get the A International that way.....

Was really looking forward to seeing how a few of the younger lads go and se if they could push for places against Fiji. Thinking BOD may be rested against Fiji so McFadden or Cave may have a chance of getting promoted with a performance

You need a mix of experience to bring on the young blood. A few older heads to calm those around them and that'll hopefully let the young guys flourish.

Good point, putting an inexperienced SH inside iHumph wouldn't be a good idea.

And buck, Horgan definitely isn't a spent force at international level, he's been playing some of the best rugby of his career and I wouldn't be surprised if he can force his way back into the full side. Great opportunity for him to put his hand up for the Fiji/SA matches.

Real pity it's not on TV, I love watching these kinds of games. Its kinda like looking into the future!

RTE teletext. Rugby is page 240 and there'll have it there. Usually a few mins behind the live score though.

Just checked, page 247 will have it.

What I meant was that it wont be on tv live.

It isn't live on Irish TV as RTE think France SA will get more viewers but there are cameras at the game so if Tonga's local carrier wanted to pay for it live I promise you RTE would give it to them. Quite simple really

Highlights do require editing and commentary work etc so thats probably why they didnt show them straight after the SA game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,255 ✭✭✭anonymous_joe

Was gutted they didn't show highlights after the France game, only the score.

Is there anything anywhere to watch? I want to find out how we did, score aside. (Which I've now forgotten)

More likely there aren't highlights because there weren't cameras at the game. RTE do highlights of matches that have just been played all the time in their champions league coverage.

I was at the game and there were cameras but not a proper OB unit. Last night's BBCNI news showed a couple of the tries. RTE will show some of the highlights before/after Scotland vs Fiji today and BBC NI's 'Final score' will also show some highlights.
BTW generally a good performance by Ireland who had to much 'nous' for the ever physical South Sea Islanders. Very impressed with Sean O'Brien - a great link between forwards and backs. Ian Humphreys had a reasonable game but missed a stack of conversions though to be fair most were from near the touchline. Thought crowd was a bit low - stand not near full. Maybe partly due to price of stand ticket - £22 no less! I paid £12 for promenade.

The IRFU and the FAI dont seem to realise there's a recession on. Thomond was empty for both the soccer friendlies and Croker wont be full tomorrow. Surely a full stadium at reduced prices is better, never mind doing it out of decency to all those on reduced incomes.

FYI, €20 was knocked off the price of the normal stand ticket and premium ticket for these tests.

Really? Handling definitely isn't the strongest point of his game at the moment.

Noticed this too. Unusual for Jim Neilly to get this wrong as he is a very experienced commentator.

I went up to the game and really enjoyed it. It lacked intensity but was very entertaining. Ireland were very enterprising, running the ball from everywhere and looked generally pretty good. Sean O'Brien, as the poster above said, was excellent, and his hands were great. He put in a barnstorming performance. Stringer ran the show superbly and the two centres were also impressive. Trimble looked good too. Couple of soft tries conceded was the major blight. All in all a good evening.

Is it Bryan Young the final interview at the end? Don't recognize him, but comparing him to the profiles on the Ulster Rugby site it looks most like him.
