Is my Linksys PAP2 toast?

My Linksys PAP2 ATA has stopped working. The power LED flashes red. The network LED is green. The two phone LEDs are off.
The ATA seems to be getting an IP address from the router but I cannot access the web interface menu on my PC.
The instruction manual mentions that a reset can be done from a connected phone handset. However, the ATA will not respond to the phone input.
Is there some other way to do a reset? I read the manual but can't find anything.

The phone AFAIK is the method of last resort and I don't know what you could do if that fails. Please don't be annoyed with my suggestion you try a different phone and RJ11 phone cable, UK pinouts are different to their U.S. (and Irish) equivalents, so hey, it's worth a shot. And also check the phone is sending DTMF and not pulse dialing perhaps?

Your PAP2 will blink in a certain pattern.

Have a look here Linksys-ATA-Setup-Troubleshooting.pdf to see what it means.

PS I have a blinker too. Couldn't fix it. Some Australian website blames the Hong Kong/Taiwanese unlocking for it, ie solder becomes too hot and melts.

Where did you buy your PAP2?

Thanks malachy47 and Wcool. I tried a different phone that I know is working correctly and still cannot get a connection with the ATA. The PAP2 was bought from a reputable retailer in Ireland, so I don't think it was previously locked. The troubleshooting guide suggests a malfunction.

So I guess it is to buy a new PAP2; still well worth the outlay considering the fortune I save on international calls. :)

Actually I found my one in the drawer, I don't use it anymore and I'm not sure where the power supply is off it (hence the reason I haven't put it up for sale). I originally bought it from blueface when they did sell them. €30 if you want.

btw I'm not sure what the locking/unlocking is your talking about, it worked for me without having to do anything.
