dell studio backlit keyboard

    just got a new dell studio but the order slip only mentioned a qwerty keyboard. As the guy on the phone repeated twice how the only change to the normal spec was the backlit keyboard and office I presumed it just didnt go into that much detail on the slip. However there doesnt seem to be any lights on the keyboard. is it possible to turn the function on or off or is this a f*ck up?

    If the lights aren't on then you probably just have a normal keyboard. Mine doesn't turn off anyway...

    They're should be a keyboard shortcut to turn the lights on and off. What model studio is it.

    On my Studio F6 toggles the backlight on and off.

    Its FN (between Ctrl + Windows key) left arrow key

    I have Dell Studio 15, taught they came with backlit keyboard as standard, but found out (when it arrived ) that they don't . I see you can buy backlit keybords on ebay, anybody know if it would be just a straight swap or would the laptop have to have been configured for it in the first place by dell. Thanks.
