Good idea but not really viable for most people.

Instead ive downloaded every stage of the 1998 tour de france and watch it while training if the laptop is available. Id love if someone brought out some kind of interactive video. Would be easy to do just have someone with a helmet came follow the training camp. Imagine the name of the chapters for the 1998 tdf

    Time trialing with Marco Pantani
    Climbing with Marco Pantani
Mid Night roller session so your blood doesnt turn to sludge with Marco Pantani
Gaining two minutes on a col over Jan Ulrich only to pull over to the side of the road for a hotdog and coffe on the decent with Marco Pantani
    Protesting with Marco Pantani

    Id buy that

It does exist, a fair few people on boards have Tacx VR trainers. It syncs the video to your speed and the brake is controlled by the computer to simulate the gradient. Both video and virtual reality is available as well as racing over the internet. It works pretty good.

Was just about to post something similar to blorg.

You can get Real life videos of Training with Lampre - Italy, raining with the Rabobank Cycling Team - Spain, Training with the Schlecks - Luxembourg, Training with Cadel Evans - Silence Lotto

Or you could use the turbo as intended... not leaving enough tim/energy to think about being bored ;)

I know people training for the likes of the Etape or Marmotte have said their times on the climbs as simulated on the trainer were very close to their times in reality... If there wasn't a benefit to it we would never cycle outside in the first place. Even if pushing yourself the trainer is mind-numbingly boring, sorry.

Would any kind souls out there be willing to briefly lend me a RealLifeVideo DVD?
I need something to go with the turbo at the mo!
Just listening to Euro Beats on the Ipod doesn't do it anymore :-)
