Tandem Bike

Hi all,

I'm looking to get a tandem bike, preferably a good make second hand, if any one can send me in the right direction gimme a shout, cheers.

They're pretty expensive and in my experience you don't want to skimp on it. Most tandem crashes come from the front fork breaking (I think) and the crashes, needless to say, are pretty nasty.

If you're serious maybe drop into Cycleways. Phil Cassidy is involved with the NCBI so he knows his tandems.

Yea, there is one for €350 in Cork but its a bso, funny enough I want it for the same type of use as the NCBI so nice one ofor that, I'll track him down:)

You won't be long getting fit if you start piloting a tandem....

Ah great idea! I'd love to get one for me and the OH but I think he'd be mortified to be seen cycling around on one.

Anyway, last time I was in the UCD bike shop they had one there. I didn't see the price but the bikes there tend to be pretty reasonable. Try giving them a call to see if it's still there

Earlier in the year I saw a lad commuting on tandem on his own around D'olier St. He had a rack and panniers on it. And that's the end of my great story.

Knowing this to be a .ie website I'm almost afraid to recommend the CTC for sale forum. Or the Tandem Touting Club u.k much better selection and it does'nt cost a lot for delivery.
