Hi i'm just wondering when do they send out or advertise for correctors for the summer exams in the junior cert etc?
Plus what's the likely chance of getting to be a corrector?

    I don't sorry.
I haven't seen the forms in school yet, but sometimes communications between the office and the staff room are fraught with delays.

usually the SEC starting looking for applications in Dec. I would apply for the LC as JC is now only a one day marking conference which means less expenses/conference fee. This may not seem a big deal but the expenses/fee are good. Plus if you haven't done it b4 one day conferences seem fairly intense to me having to cram so much in in one day.

Ya last year was my first year and the conference was such a rush as there is literally so much to know. I think you can only get LC if you have done the JC corrections a few times..It may depend on the subject though.

I didn't apply for corrections til April but my subject is quite obscure so I would recommend applying early as possible.

heard of a few people who got LC first time out but you are right, generally JC is a training ground for the big 'ol LC.

I think it depends on subjects, I applied in May my first year and got it but seems to depend on supply and demand. That said, people always drop out and you could get called at any time!
