Min. specs. MW2

I'm having problems with this game, I think it may be a RAM issue but am not sure.
My pc is getting a bit long in the tooth now but still plays most games without a hitch.
    My specs are Windows 7 64bit, 8800GTX, E6700 and 2GB RAM.

The game really slows down when things get busy, I have turned down the graphics to minimum with no change so I'm thinking it's the amount of RAM.
Is 2GB too little for this game, or is there something I'm missing to do with Windows 7?
    Any help appreciated.

You should be flying it with those specs. COD is highly optimised for most setups. Make sure the drivers are up to date.

Well hold up for a second what operating system are you running? Yes your setup should be ok, but with vista the ram could well be an issue!

download fraps, run it and tell us what fps it's reporting when you run the game...

Will try fraps, but it looks like stop motion when there is a lot of action, so very slow really. I was wondering if any features of Windows 7 might be the issue? I can run Fallout 3 ect. with no problems.

Ran fraps, not sure how to post the results, it runs as high as 120 fps but drops to 1 or even stalls completely when any major action happens. This is frustrating.

It seems that the game slows when there is any writing to hard disk such as game saves ect. I have the game on my primary drive and have never had this problem before. I will flush and change the drivers but beyond that am at a loss. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

Maybe a reinstall of the game too.

If that doesn't work use driversweeper from guru3d.com to get rid of the drivers and reinstall them!

If it's only the one game, then it's prob the game itself...

I have installed and tried new drivers with no luck, defragged the hard drive, this is baking my noodle.
