New WiFi Problem on unlocked 3GS

I upgraded to 3.1.2 last week and jailbroke and unlocked the phone. It's been working grand more or less since then. The first time I switched it off afterwards, I had to do the reset network settings things and power it off to get my WiFi to work.

I also installed the push fix thing yesterday because of the following problem. I have a set of Sony bluetooth headphones that I use with the iPhone. When I plug the dongle it, it comes up with a message saying it's not designed for use with the device and do I want to switch the phone into Flight/Airplane mode to cut down on interference. I select Yes and I use it away and it works perfectly.

The problem is when I come home and I try to connect to my WiFi network, it can't find it. I've ended up having to restart the phone a few times, and reset network settings to get it to work. This is a bit of a pain as it also wipes out my 3G and MMS settings and I always have to reset them.

I know the iPhone has bluetooth built in, however when I used the inbuilt Bluetooth on my iPod Touch (not the iPhone) the music on the headphones would cut in and out. Using the dongle with the iPod is much better. I haven't tried using the inbuilt Bluetooth on the iPhone because of the issues I had with the iPod.

    Anyone else experienced this?

Not a fix but u should know ..

It seems that the Apple 3.1.2 firmware is giving WiFi issues
GeoHot , the balckra1n & blacksn0w developer has stopped looking into if his hacks are the cause of these wifi problems , he has now stated that he knows the cause and confirms its 3.1.2 and not blackra1n .
If this is so surley Apple will be patching a fix shortly .

Have a 3GS, and installed blackrain and havent had a problem connecting to Wifi

Can use Cydia and app store and Safari.

Is you WEP/WPA entered correctly on iPhone ?

The narrower a man’s mind, the broader his statements.

    Regarding loosing the wifi i have the same problem. I have iphone 3GS with firmware 3.1.2 initialy i did an upgrade to the firmware 3.1.2 and everything looked fine then i had wifi issues were when i rebooted the iphone i lost the wifi connection, under settings-wifi i was not seeing any networks. So i decided to do a complete restore as a new iphone. The problem still persists where when i reboot the iphone i loose the network and have to do a manually reset on network to get my network back. If i reboot the iphone like 6-10 times i might get the network back. This is a pain alright so i have slight work around;

Install WifiFoFum from the app store, run wififofum and search networks and select your network and hit connect and paste your wep key into the connection ( the wfiffofum app will store your key ) and it will connect to your network. Not the perfect solution but better than network resets until apple patch the firmware 3.1.2.

If anyone else has a work around, please let us know.

    cheers

Push and YouTube issues are caused by hacktivation. To fix, add http://cydia.iphoneil.net/ as a source and install "Push Fix"

I think I installed that. How do I get rid of it?

Goto "manage" in Cydia and you should find it , then uninstall .
