    €40 = 1/6 of the remainder.
    Therefore the total remainder is €40 x 6 = €240

    Three quarter of her wages = €240

    Therefore to get the full amount you need to get 1 quarter, and then multiply it by 4 to get 4 quarters [the total].

    So, €240 ÷ 3 = €80

    €80 x 4 = €320

    Her weekly wage is €320.

    I would just solve it by easy equation.

    x - (1/4)*x - (3/4)*(5/6)*x = 40

    (24/24)*x - (6/24)*x - (15/24)*x = 40

    (3/24)*x = 40

    1/8 * x = 40

    x = 40 * 8

    x = 320

    Thats a bit more mathematical way.

    you could of been mathematical, and kept it simple

    3/4*1/6=40
    1/8=40
    total = 320
