Does MAME work with Windows 7? I would be specifically interested in MAME32. I cannot find anything which suggests no :(

You could just download it and try it?

I did and it didn't work so I was wondering if this is a compatibility problem.

You could try out plain old command line mame or a new version of mame 32. If command line version doesn't work then try an old version like 0.69 and if that doesn't work you might have to wait for the next update.

Is there a compatibility mode in 7 that would work?

I don't think that is included on Home Premium

Mame does work in Windows7. Well I know MameUI does, which is the GUI version of Mame. MameUI replaces the old Mame32.

No compatability mode is needed, it runs straight after unpacking. When you say it doesnt work, how exactly do you mean? Will it not run at all? Or not boot games?

It could be that you are using a new version of mame that isn't compatible with the roms of the games you want to play. Rom sets change all the time with each release and usually some games end up not working.

It was giving a black screen and nothing else. MameUI works perfectly though so thanks for that.
