Remote desktop connection for mac

    Hi everybody - here is my question

    I would like to remotely login to my PC at home from a mac laptop using
    Remote desktop connection for mac 2
    I have a router at home and a time capsule wireless

    I have opened port 3389 on the router and it works fine wired and wireless on the same lan at home

    Trouble is whem I'm away from home and using 02 mobile broadband
    I can't login

    Any help would be great

    When you say you can't login what exactly do you mean?

    Can you connect or is there a timeout?

    apologies for not being clear

    I cannot connect thru wireless broadband
    I can connect when I'm on the same LAN no problem

    Test to see if the port is really open. Use canyouseeme to check this.

    Hi Degsie

    Tried Canyouseeme.org on LAN and
    result - Success - I can see your service on .....
    Your ISP is not blocking port 3389

    However on O2 Wireless connection
    result - Error - I could not see your service on .....
    reason : Connection refused

    That's fine and what I'd expect to see. When you remote desktop on the same lan you are using the local IP address, right? When you are remote you need to use the WAN address. Make sure you know your WAN address or use DDNS if you have a non static IP.

    It does seem to be very unstable
    it connects for a few minutes then freezes
