    Hi All,

I am going to put a small advert in a local brochure and i am wondering how to go about doing it!!
Do i do it in excel, word or some publishing package??
As with everyone money is tight so i am hoping to do it myself.
    Any advise greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Do it in what ever you feel comfortable with and then maybe pdf it and send it on to the publication, make sure the spelling is correct..

    Thanks Monkey,
What about the size of it? Do i need to scale it or anything? Or should i just print it and see how it looks?

to scale is probably best but don't make it smaller than it will be, find out what sizes and formats the publication accepts..
a lot of palces will make you up an add at no extra cost, just tell them what you want to put in it..

    1. Ask the publisher what advert format he accepts. He is likely to have a spec sheet that he can send you

    - size
    - format.. pdf/ photoshop/ illustrator / quark etc

    2. Just explain your situation. He may oblige by just accepting text from you and finishing the ad himself.

Or make your ad purchase contingent on (2).

Download the free trial of Photoshop at adobe.com and try that. Make sure you get exact specs and make sure you save it in CKMY format at 300dpi.
