Myself and a friend (both female, mid 20's) want to get away for a week in January.

We're not really interested in the typical 'lairy' costa del sol type holiday but would love something more relaxing than a city break where there is nowhere to properly relax....sun would be great, as cheap as possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

In Jan, your best bet for sun is any of the Canary Islands. I've found Tenerife and Gran Canaria to be the liveliest. Lanzarote sounds like it would suit you guys. Furtenventura is too quiet. Egypt is excellent value for money but it wouldn't be for me although I know loads of people who really enjoy it there.
Also spotted in weekend papers that American Holidays doing deals from €399 pp for flights & acommodation to Orlando.
    Have a great time!
