Apart from the really obvious ones (dark knight, cloverfield, alliwantforchristmasisapsp.com) can anyone think of any good ones ?

I think they can show a lot of creativity and some of them are really interesting. It is probably the way everything will be marketed in the near future.

I liked the blue square or was it blue cube? last year in dublin.

Anyway, some bank floated a giant inflatable blue cube in the liffey and let it float around, didn't release a statement until just in time for the 6oc news that night. Was pretty funny, the radio was blabbing on about it all day.

Didnt David Lynch also sit beside the road with a cow to promote Inland Empire ?

Promotion for Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 was genius! You probably saw a lot of them and didn't even notice!
