How to plan a good english essay??

    Just a quick question... How do you do a plan for an english essay??:confused: We have an essay to do for tomorro on the poetry of Yeats and we were told before we start to do a plan. I have no idea how and didn't get a chance to ask him. Help please??

    You could do bullet points for the structure of your essay e.g. Intro, First theme Irish Nationalism etc.

    Or you could do like a spider diagram with thoughts and ideas, but I think this is better suited for creative essays.

    P1 = Introduction: mention themes, poems, some biographical info, refer to the question asked
    P2 = first poem or theme (depending on your approach)
    P3 = second one
    P4 = third one
    P5 = fourth one
    last paragraph = Conclusion: recap on your points, mention your favourite poem, refer to the question, give an overall personal response.

    Yep, and don't forget imagery, language etc.
