Argos price difference between sterling and euro

I ordered a product from Argos.ie today, a Challenge Xtreme Dirty Water Pump 400 Watt, retailing on the Argos.co.uk website for 39.99GBP.
The same product on the argos.ie website is 61.79.
I calculated the price conversion and it equates to = 44.2268 EUR today.
Even with the usual rip off Ireland markup on UK products this seems excessive to me!

    Then don't order it.

This is nothing new. We get screwed on ALL price conversions from £ to €, from all of the shops.

Went to Newry last year for Christmas shopping, saved 700 euro. I saved over 380 alone on 10 items in Argos compared to the prices in Argos in the Republic!

Now I'm no good at maths, but when you throw in 30 euro petrol for the roundtrip, that's a hell of a saving.

I'll definately be going again this year!
:mad:I'm sick of being ripped off for being Irish!

Including VAT, there should be no more than 12% in the difference between Sterling and Euro pricing (possibly less now that the exchange rate is so low). Anything more than this is the shop ripping you off, plain and simple. The answer is, don't shop there. People are already doing this, so it's only a matter of time before the shops either change or go out of business.
