You can select the fields you want to see in the list view by selecting View -> Show View Options. But none of the fields you want to see are available. They only have
    Date Modified
    Date Created
    Last Opened
    Size
    Kind
    Version
    Comments
    Label

You would probably need a thirdparty replacement for the finder if you want to view the kind of meta-data you are looking for.

Yeah, you can't view metadata in the Finder. Nor is there any add-on that will add this functionality afaik. (I don't think it can either, but can can anyone confirm if Path Finder can do this?)

It's an often requested feature by Windows users. I don't really know why though. I never deal with mp3 files anymore except through iTunes. The only reason I could see someone really needing this feature is if they had a big bunch of disorganised and unnamed mp3s lying all over the place. But I would just copy them into iTunes and sort out them there.

It's not quite what you are looking for, but MP3-info might be helpful - it will allow you to view and modify metadata within the finder but not organise it.

Not trying to be smart here Euro but iTunes auto sorts your music into folders for storage (By artist in most cases) and it can give you about 60 options with which to sort your music by in your iTunes window. Filing songs by year will require manual tagging of songs if you want songs dated when they were recorded or released or if you get them from a years compilation.

As SD mentions, unless you have files that need labeling, you are referring to programme files and creation dates or else we are getting the wrong end of the stick here but you sure have me confused now:)
