I cant get my iolfree.ie (BT Ireland) mail anywhere! Windows mail was giving an error message earlier - "cannot connect to mail server", and now it is just timing out.

If I go to the iolfree.ie mail website I can log in but it doesn't show any emails in my inbox. Just a blank!!

Mail2web is takes forever to do anything and then it says Login failure.

Anyone know what's happened?!!! Is it just me??!!

Looks like an issue alright, I tried Telnet into the server is not working either. Must be a global problem.

IIRC their outgoing servers are different from their incoming so that explains this.

When I launch my mail thingy there's a little AVG box at the bottom of the screen that says "connecting to butler.esatclear.ie"

Is vodafone your interneet provider? Try BT for support. When you click on "help" from the iol webmail page it brings you to a BT support page.

i tried to call bt tech support just to ask if servers are down, you then get told to dial another number which is vodafone helpline

My IOL.IE account is fine but my IOLFREE.IE which I use for most things is not working.
Even when I try to check through the IOL portal
http://webmail.iolfree.ie/cgi-bin/cwmail.cgi
I get :
An error has occurred

Cannot connect to POP host pop.iolfree.ie:
W13: POP open failed
W14: Login failed, try again
W20: User login error

Also followed phone rout with result as others have had,

They can't have just pulled the plug on iolfree surely ?

Surely they would!

I'm trying to be optimistic here and hoping/guessing there is problem with servers somewhere and they will fix it eventually like the last time!

I don't know who to contact... I haven't tried really, other having a quick look for an online form or support email. Found neither. :(

It's my main email so if it's still down tomorrow I'll be trying a lot harder then!
