Twice in a week I had different people come to my house selling Stihl chainsaws for €100.

Should I be suspicious of their origin?

Yes. But buy one anyway. I hear they make a hip replacement for a hand, should you ever chop it off.

    Were they pikies?

I used to work in the industrial power tool business...there's always a few pikies about tryin to sell fake tools..'tis a genuine daywalt yea boss'..

If you dont know your stuff to be able to tell a real from a fake, I'd avoid.

If you do know your stuff, and they are real, then of course they are stolen..

If they are nomads I'd say they are casing out your house.

    Avoid them like the plague.
My uncle was using a knock-off chainsaw when it slipped, and cut into his leg.
He lost a lot of blood, before the doctors managed to stem the flow........... although they say he is still not out of the woods yet.

they are complete fakes that have come from the fake capital of the world. all they have is a plastic sticker on them that says stihl. the real ones have it moulde on and there should be an original sticker on the bottom of a real one. ask him what model it is and google it an i bet you it wont come up as a result.

Pun intended? Or did you even twig it? If I'm going out on a limb now I won't stick around.

My god man, go out and get Evil Dead 2! Classic movie with the immortal Bruce Campbell. The first one's good 2, but it's pretty much just the first half of 2, so ya don't need it.

On the other hand, I have not seen Tokyo Gore Police and will now go home and check it out!

On the original note, you would want to be a rediculously good salesman to convince an ordinary door answerer that he needs a chainsaw!
