    Hi there,

Im a new member and just thought id break myself in if that ok. I was just wondering if anyone else was at the russell brand show last nite? I thought it was quite good, went to his last one in the national stadium though which was much better. My question is to anyone who attended last nites gig, was it just me or was there far too much abusive heckling??
Jibes like *uck the queen, *uck gordon brown amongst the worst of which, I felt were out of order and just served to try and annoy brand.

Why pay money to heckle or abuse someone you like to listen to??? It was far too full of tweenies that wouldnt shut up also, even brand got the hump and asked one to come down to the stage just so she could air her view and let the show go on, she just would not shut up shouting. she then swaggers dow toward the stage to a chorus of boo's all whilst giving the crowd a 2 finger salute. Her point?????? it was her 30th birthday and (in her thinkest nordy accent) demanded people acknowledge her 30th birthday!!! F*ckin tramp!! waste of money, to attent a show and have the likes of her spoil it, she should have been told to shut up and sit down.

brand told her to sit down anf F*ck off, she got the hint by then I can tell you!!. great gig but cut short I felt and I cant help but wonder if he felt the night just wasnt going to go as most people wouldve liked.

With you on all of that. Thought the show was too short for the subject matter. It was like as if he was telling as much as he could about what happened with "Manuelgate" but under the terms of a confidentiality agreement.

My companion who's a long term stage veteran is convinced that the two heckling girls with the hats were staged. Although Brand has always attracted way more hecklers than most comedians. They're desperate for his attention and a slice of the pie.

His best gig in Dublin was the Olympia this month two years ago.

I couldn't go to the gig but for the people who did, would you say the O2 is too big for a comedy gig? The intimacy of the Olympia is ideal in my opinion.

I'm judging whether or not to go to the Eddie Izzard gig on your replies!!

It is too big for sure - needs a huge persona to get through to the crowd. Bill Bailey will carry it off because he has a orchestra with him next week and it's not a traditional stand up show. Eddie Izzard will be fine, I'd go and enjoy it.

I sometimes do stand up myself (I'm not very good!) but actually I much prefer a big venue to a smaller one like a pub. It's much easier to get into the vein of what you're saying and feeling. Just not as big as the O2!!
