    Hi

Am heading to Killarney next week for for days and was hoping to maybe get a fitness test/vo2 max done. Does anyone know if there is a place in Killarney that does this?

Also i know nice scenery etc looking for 12-15k runs on scenic view if possible?

    Cheers

    Ken

To the best of my knowledge there is no place in Killarney to get tests done but i could be wrong. The ITT in Tralee 20mins away used to do them but whether they still do im not sure.
As for somewhere to run you couldnt go wrong with Killarney national park i suppose, dont know the exact distance but there is a 10k race ran there most years so it must be quiet long.

There's a nice run in the National Park starting at Muckross House and bringing you over a few bridges between the lakes. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/12955764. This is a run I did back in September. It's about an 8 mile circuit. When you come out of the park, cross the road (N71) to a trail on the far side and run on this for a bit less than a mile, then cross the road again and run along the trail back in the park.

If you're starting from the town itself, there's a trail all the way out to Muckross gardens that's off the road.

The demesne and Ross Castle and the lake beside it are breathtaking, follow the sign for the castle, there is distance markers on the signs. Went running there a few weeks ago on a weekend in Killarney and stopped beside to castle to admire the view. First time i've done that in 12 years of running.
