an alternative is leatherette. You can get some really good quality stuff in Hickeys at 20 a sq yd, some funky colours too, or ebay for even cheaper. You need stuff with a good backing that is easy for glueing.

    Ahhh the fabled Gorm! :pac:

I was tempted to do one myself but I went out to Ikea last weekend and couldn't find them. The place is like a maze!

It's fairly bulky so thats why the postage is a btch. Allparts UK have it but theres a postage surcharge also. I don't think it works out as expensive even still.

Ah the gorm is fantastic stuff. I went out there myself. Its at the storage isles near the checkouts. When I was there it was the last row of shelving where they had a discounted stock area. I went a bit over kill and bought 2 pieces, one was hte largest and then a narrower version of it. Doing a 2 tiered version with an extra flat area thats going to be MDF for expression pedals.

Back on to the subject, it might be worth getting in touch with TWI international, they are based in Mountjoy square and are a huge building full of fabrics, they might do something that will suit you.

They haven't got their stock online, but they do very good quality leatherette.

I recently covered a home-made speaker cabinet with nice red leatherette from Hickeys. Cheap and effective, but its thicker than tolex so a little harder to get nice corners. Use plenty of glue!

Zhivago out in Finglas have a good range of upholstery fabrics. Worth a try.

I'd have to check but not too bad at all. Contact me tomorrow through Blanch SOM and I'll get you more info.
It's coming from the UK so there's no mad carriage charges. Whats's the amp? And do you want regular or elephant? I'm assuming black but I can get other colours.
I'm logging off now but I'm happy to sort you out.

It seems everyone is looking for Tolex?!! I recommended Blanch SOM as I know John will sort it out, if you (or anyone else) need a contact outside Dublin, let me know where you're based.

    Hi
John at BSOM said you called regarding Tolex, a lead from another member. Now you know where it's coming from.
I will pass on the info to John as soon as I get. Cheers

This is not a platform for shops to sell their wares.
