Well thanks to an exceptionally cool birthday pressie I now no longr need my trusty Garmin 305.

So I am offering it up for sale to the first person with €80 in cold hard cash.

Included is the 305 watch, HR strap, USB cable and cradle and instruction manual. S/ware you can download freely from Garmin.com.

Everything is in tip top condition, apart from the HRM whcih has some minor marks on the back where the battery was replaced (in Sept so there should be a lot of life left in it yet!). The marks are on teh surface and they don't chafe or rub me but the plastic is soft and any new owner with a less buff chest or impressive set of pecs will be able to either sand or scrape down any lumps or bumps. It's seriously not bad though - I wore it in Amsterdam for teh entire marathon and it didn't rub then so the new owner should be fine.

Other than that all is utterly brilliant and it comes guaranteed to strap rockets to your trainers at any point in your run where you dip below WR pace*

I did have someone offer & agree to buy it but I can't get hold of them so if they see this please drop me a text on teh number I pm'd you and we can sort it out. Other than that it's first come first served, drop me a pm!

    Thanks!

A lot of people are upgrading from 305 to 405 post DCM so if you post a wanted thread you might get one. I know of 2 or 3 sold here a few weeks ago as well, for example

Was around the 200yoyo mark on amazon a couple of weeks ago. The 405 is smaller on the wrist than the 305, but thats the only advantage I can see. I was very disappointed with the 405 for the following reasons:
Small screen - harder to see when running.
The bezel - a gimmick, buttons on the 305 much easier to use.
Much more straight forward downloading data to PC with the 305.
Apart from the size the 405 is a step back for user friendlyness.

    Posted this before :

I had the Garmin 305 and while it is bulky it never lost coverage and was very accurate , I upgraded to the 405 and while it is sleeker I find the functionality of the older 305 better . I originally bought the 305 for running , downloading the maps onto the training center and the anal analysis that follows when looking at splits, distance ,hr etc is great .
I have since taken an interest in Tri's and while both allow for multi sports only the 305 allows you to add in the transition times .
I now have a 305 which I prefer as it offers more , a 405 which is too sensitive and too tetchy but looks good but want the 310xt .
If buying new go onto the garmin website and do the product compare for functionality. also buy online and save save save
