Blue till soil on site

    Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has had experience with blue till soil as regards percolation and percolating test. Engineer has recommended maybe looking at getting a treatment plant as this soil type is not supposed to great as regards soakage. Any thoughts?

    If its the blue grey type tacky stuff we have in parts of mayo, you really wont get any worthwhile percolation.
    Is this for planning permission?
    Does the soil change to a gravel at lower levels or does it just get worse?
    What depth does this soil start at?
    You should have an approved person doing the system design for the site (for most planning authorities). They would be able to work out the best way forward. You can also bring a system manufacturer on board and tied the system into your approved design and it sometimes helps with planning if you can show that you have signed a maintenance contract with a manufacturer to become active should you actually be granted planning & construct the house.
