Good File Conversion software needed.

Can anyone reccomend a decent free, easy to use file conversion software. I have loads of different file types like Flac, Ogg, Rar, flv(have that one sorted with realplayer sp conversion). I've tried two or three which claim to be completely free until you actually start using it when it tries to charge you or they have just been overly complicated and useless.
Any suggestions? Does this even exist?

    Try good old vlc.
Should do most, if not all that.

Ive tried a couple of times with Vlc but i seem to have a newer version and there doesnt seem to be instructions for this version. The layout looks completely different to those versions in various instructions. The version i have has media, audio, video, playback, playlist, tools, help across the top and since there is no settings obvious wizard tab i've no idea where to start. Also can't access videolan.org for help.

I've had great success with Super (for Windows) http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html or FFMPEGX (for Mac OS) http://www.ffmpegx.com/.
Handbrake http://handbrake.fr/ is good for video stuff too.

On version 1.03 you can go
Media > Convert / Save > Add.. > Convert / Save > Choose destination file name and type.
