In An Garda Siochana, Gardai with more service are probably favoured aboved members with less service.

(ie)..When applying for a lateral move within the job, it may be asked how much service the applicant has rather than how competent the applicant is in a particular area.

    or

If there is an undesireable duty to do, on most occassions it's the member with the least service who is nominated for the duty.

    Is this right?

Should there be more diversity and flexability here?

Can't speak re the first item. As for the second one, again like your other thread the junior person is always going to get the more "undesirable" jobs.

You forgot the question, are you related to anyone equal or higher ranking then me?

Is any other job any different really?

It's frustrating when you feel your "juniority" stops you getting a position, but your time will come. Keep showing you're capable of doing it, but remember that whinging about it will probably set you back!

....and you'll always feel you're the one left with the brown end of the stick.
