    Hi Joekickass345.

There is a Wingtsun club in Blanchardstown in the Coolmine Sports Complex on Tuesday nights and Saturday afternoons.
Great instructor and a great bunch of lads.

Wing Chun, Wing Tsun, Ving Tzun, etc., are all the same thing. It's written in Chinese characters, and there isn't really an exact way to translate the sounds perfectly to Roman characters, so you get all these different - but equally valid - approximations.

    Hi joekickass345,

I teach Wing Tsun in Blanchardstown. www.wingtsun-blanchardstown.ie.
There are also schools in Finglas and Dublin City Centre. www.wingtsunireland.com.

The generic name for the martial art that Yip Man taught Bruce Lee is Wing Chun or Ving Tsun. Yip Man also taught the head of our organisation who is Leung Ting and he amalgamated the two versions into Wing Tsun as a trademark.

There is a group teaching Wing Tzun in Dalkey. http://dublin.gumtree.com/dublin/11/33604611.html and www.ebmasireland.net.

There is also another Wing Chun school in Dublin with Yip Man's son Yip Chun as their grandmaster. www.wingchun.ie.

Their is another group teaching Wong Shun Leung Wing Chun. www.gumtree.ie/dublin/40/43393540.html

Wong Shun Leung along with Leung Ting and Yip Chun were all taught by Yip Man but they all teach differently themselves.

Yip Chun also teaches differently than his brother Yip Ching and in fact Yip Man taught differently in Hong Kong in his later years than he did in his earlier days in mainland China.

John O'Riordan in Cork has more of a connection with the older style through his association with Lun Kai. www.wingchunireland.com.

So trying to find one definitive style of Wing Chun/Tsun is a bit of a white elephant.

Hope this helps or at least put things into context.

    Michael

    Hi Phil, :-)
Classes in the city centre are €10 each or €50 per month.

As an aside, the city centre school charges €50 per month for two classes per week while in Blanchardstown you get three classes per week for €65 per month.
