    Lad,

After a days airsofting is it necessary to discharge the battery.

Can this be done with a regular charger or will i need to get something to do this for me.

It depends what type of battery you have. I have Ni-Mh batteries and I don't bother discharging them. If you discharge them after use its supposed to make them last longer, but I think that is only for the older type that had the "memory" problems. I don't think batteries suffer from it that much nowadays.

And you would need to buy a discharger unless your charger also has a discharger built into it. Most standard charges cannot discharge batteries.
