Mail wont send - Help

    Hello!
    (i reposted this from C&T section)
    Unable to send emails from my Mac (G5 OSX 10.5.8) using Mail.

    Dialogue box says "Verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail Preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator."

    Email addresses are fine (in use for years) and smtp address is good too (Irish Broadband).

    Receiving incoming emails without problem. Connection Doctor shows all is good for my 3 PoP accounts.

    Problems started on returning from overseas trip. Abroad I use Mac Pro which I upgraded to snow leopard. I also use MobileMe. The Mac Pro had issues sending mails too - using connections which had worked faultlessly for years. Had to restart it to send emails waiting in Outbox.

    Any fixes or help for me?

    what address is in your outgoing mailserver?

    Tried smtp.irishbroadband.ie too but that didn't work either.
    my colleague here using PC and same address has no problems sending emails.

    Interestingly i can send mails using gmail pop account

    Strange.

    Any thoughts?

    Make sure SSL is off in the SMTP server settings (Use Secure Sockets Layer), that port 25 in selected (or default) and no authentication.
