Acer Laptop Problem

    Hey folks.

I have a problem with my laptop, in that when it's cold, the on/off button doesn't work.

If I plug it in, and leave it for a while, it boots ok.

Sometimes I have to rest it on a warm radiator to get it to boot.

This was a problem last winter too, but in the summer it was fine.

    Can anyone help me?

Also, I'm in the market for a new machine anyway.

I was thinking of a netbook, as it will really only be used for browsing.

Do the netbooks come with a disk drive?

I'll also probably be getting Football Manager 2010, could this be played on a netbook?

I have extremely limited funds, so any and all recommendations welcome.

    thanks :)

hmmm.... maybe either some loose internal wiring/connection or else possibly something to do with your battery?! do you have the same problem if the laptop battery is removed? Is it under warranty?

Technically the machine itself should actually run better when its cold --see overclocking :)

Netbooks do not have a CD Drive, so no Football Manger can play netbooks.
