Do many people here use Twitter? It can be good for learning more about music/djing etc sometimes. Obviously it all depends on the quality fo the people you follow, but its easy to set up and I like to glance at it when I'm bored every once in a while.

I had stopped using it for ages as it can get clogged up with craop from a few annoying posters but there are ways to avoid this and keep it neater. There is a new "Lists" feature so it's a lot easier to manage your followers now, you can group all your music/dj ones in the same list and read only those updates. Schweet.

This morning I made a music group and went around adding loads of differen ones of various interest. It will need some tweaking I'm sure over time. Some companies and record labels are great to follow for info etc, but some Dj's can be good to follow but I find some are a pain in the ass as they talk so much shyte when touring etc. Anyway here's a random bunch to get you started:

There are hundreds more so go hunting for your own. A good way to find new ones is to go into an existing DJ or something and see who they follow.

So does anyone here use it much? Let us know any tips or recommend people to follow too.

Yeah I browse some of them now and again, that Kid Handsome bloke is so lovely even if his political views are cat.

I havent been Using twitter in a while now since i broke the itouch, was just so handy. But when i was on it i was Chatting with the likes of Boys Noize & Jamie Fanatic, among others!

I also discussed Ryanair with Tay Zonday.

From a Djing/Production End, I think its good for Djing as you find out when tracks are being released if you have the right subscriptions,
As for Producing, Simply mingling & getting to know contacts can help step up your production game & maybe help you get your music out to a wider audience.

haha, it's actually a bit difficult to get a bit of craic out of twitter without coming out with a few controversial opinions! Come out with something good and a load of people retweet it.

I love twitter. Absolutely love it. I follow a handful of people like Steve Bug, Donnacha Costello (looklong), Guy Gerber, and a few essential non-music guys like Stephen Fry, Bill Bailey, etc.

The one thing you learn about all the big dj's is that there absolute geeks who spend most of their time in airports/aeroplanes talking about food and gear.

I have a built in tweet-feed to my site, new threads from my site go automaticaly on to twitter, great for getting plenty of hits to your site, and i've a hundred followers, just need another 999,999,999 to become "important"
